OSCE TRAINER'S PROFILE

Hello! 

My name is Josephine Morones, your OSCE Trainer. You can call me Jo. I have been into nurse recruitment and training since 2011, and it has been my passion to help overseas nurses register with the NMC. 

I am originally educated and trained in the Philippines and worked in a tertiary government hospital as a paediatric nurse. I have moved to the UK and studied BSc (hons) International Nursing and finished First Class Honours.

I have worked for a college in Derby and a University in London to deliver the Overseas Nurses Programme (ONP). This was done along clinical practice both in the hospital and private nursing homes. I have progressed to becoming a Practice Educator of the Academy and have undergone training to be able to mentor and sign off student nurses with the University. 

In 2014, the NMC introduced and implemented the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), as we were on transition to finish the Overseas Nurses Programme (ONP). Altum Resources Ltd was born in 2015 in view of helping overseas nurses secure jobs in private nursing homes and facilitating NMC registration through the OSCE Review Classes. We have also worked with other agencies by helping them start up their OSCE training centres. I do believe that OSCE training updates are helpful, but it would be most beneficial if you are in touch with clinical practice itself. I am updated with adult nursing practice as I also work as a peripatetic nurse for a company of 6 nursing homes across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, and it has been a pleasure to train nurses internally and facilitate their registration with the NMC.
